Should the main server start a new world
« on: August 11, 2012, 11:45:56 am »
First of all, I appreciate you're taking the time Hoop to post the poll, but unfortunately it became more than that.

I'm a little disappointed on how it turned into an arguement, and a name calling session.  However, the final decision on what happens to the world is mine. I am taking a lot of things into consideration. And one of those things is the fact, that Lucifer mentions, that people have put a lot of time and effort into some of their works!

When I started the WolfCraft servers, I took pride in the fact that we were not one of those servers who changed the world all the time. I understand there are new things coming out in MC at times, but the benefits of what can be gained with updating has to be weighed with what people have done.

I do not know yet what I will do, I may be adding a third server, but whether it will be replacing one yet is to be determined. This is where I have to reach out to EVERYONE, and weigh the thoughts and ideas they share! I want this to be a community thing, not an endeavor of like two to three people.  That is what we are trying to be about here, and thats how I want to try to keep it.

It would be easy for me to just say yeah, I'm doing it this way, but...  then I'm no better than those running those other servers we all came here to get away from.

So please bear with me.  Let's be civil about this!  No more name calling, PM'ing each other with insults and such, and no more arguing in the forums.  There's a lot that has to be done and I do NOT have as much time to do it like I used to.  So if we can work together, things can happen a lot smoother when the time comes!!

I love both server worlds, I feel like I'm a part of each when I am playing, but I never really get too attached, because I am really a minecraft hermit, always on the move, always looking for that next discovery.  The comforts of home are nice . . . especially if you are a Hobbit, but I am much more akin to Strider and the Rangers (excuse me, The Hobbit is this December so better get used to hearing me "geek out" about it).

So my opinion leans toward a brand new realm of exploration, discovery, and construction.  If possible and if agreed upon, a dangerous realm where whenever you step out of your front door, you are in peril (actually its even better if you're in peril when you're indoors!).  There are a lot of new features, some old that I havent experienced yet in the game, and I would like to try them.  Whether it be in a PvP environment, or in the already established server world, it doesnt really matter as long as the people playing remain united and can cooperate (or make War "nicely" with one another).

To give much better input, I will be trying out some of the new stuff and getting a feel for the game in its various forms.  For me, the raw, Vanilla game is still fun, but I am not against change!  I do enjoy competitive play as well as cooperative play.  I enjoy being a part of this community, although it may not seem so lately since I've been in-active.  So in a while I should be able to post some more specific preferences of mine.  I urge everyone to post their own, and hopefully we can all come to a compromise that will make Wolfcraftgaming an even better place to play Minecraft.

Yeah :(

That's why I also have enjoyed Wolfcraft. No nonsense map changing, Although in the end we did change the map cause the massive updates 1.8 and later. I think a new map change would be nice, but, we should wait till there's a massive change that affects the whole game a lot. (Eg. 1.8 ) 1.3 doesn't seem to have any features like that so I would rather wait for a bigger change.

Agreed I want a  whole community satisfied not a small group.  And I'm glad we're doing a community aproach to this instead of the admins making the decision. Makes more sense, and exactly what we wanted to get away from.

Lol hermit. It's fun doing that.

A dangerous world would be really fun, I could see myself getting into it.

Agreed. Nuff' said.
R.I.P. foREVer!
