News and Updates / Getting Ready For 2013!
« Last post by BayingWolf149 on December 29, 2012, 02:23:00 pm »
In preparation for the new upcoming year, I will be making a few notable changes to where things are and how they look on the WolfCraft Main server! You may notice that the spawn point on the main server does not look very nice at the moment. By the end of the day tomorrow, I should have it looking much better and have it easier to navigate! I will also be giving away free plots in WolfTown until the 1st. Visit the Town Hall for more info. Some if not all shops at spawn will be removed to make room for new shop buildings that are separated from spawn. If you have a shop at spawn, you will be contacted by ILoveWolves14 in-game. You will be given a new and larger shop outside of spawn.

I would also like you to know that there will be a large firework show on December 31st around 11:45pm (EST -5) above the new spawn point that is in the making to celebrate the new years arrival! Make sure you invite all of your friends and everyone you know! Feel free to stop a random person on the side of the road or some random person you see in a store and invite them to come watch! lol

Oh, and one last thing, 65Wolf has recently added a plugin that I myself created!  If you need a link to the forums here, you can simply use /ssa in-game to get a click-able link to the forums here!

If you have any questions or comments on all of this, feel free to send me a PM or leave a reply to this post!

I hope that everyone has had a great Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all on the servers soon!!

Tekkit Server Discussion / Re: Griefing

Before you go into any game/server make sure you tire all your settings down low as possible. The log into the game/server and turn your settings up as you go along until you find it's playable at.

Tekkit Server Discussion / Re: Griefing
« Last post by Prd30 on December 27, 2012, 02:49:10 pm »
I tried again to get into Tekkit.  It was as laggy as it was when I last tried it.  Its unplayable.

I got into the Wolfcraftgaming Tekkit server and performance was OK for the minute I was in-game, but the complete destruction of the spawn area together with the assault from monsters left me with little to do.

I'm going to keep trying to get into Tekkit but its a pretty large hurdle right now.  Any ideas on how to make my single player server more stable or how to fix our server to make it more accomodating to noobs?

Server Guides and Tutorials / Donating to the Server
« Last post by 65Wolf on December 27, 2012, 12:23:21 am »
Hello, I'm glad you at least clicked on this page.

I started this server because I was not very happy with the servers that I played on before, mainly because the Admins and Moderators seemed to be all juveniles and did as they pleased.  When my kids and I first started playing Minecraft, we would spend a lot of time trying to build some nice projects on a particular server, only to find out they would reset the world on a whim, without any warning whatsoever! Turned out the Admins and Mods were only 14 and 15 year olds who were doing it for their own pleasure, not caring so much for the users in their community.

So finally, I made the decision to start my own server, with the help of my sons.  We knew nothing of starting up and running a server, so we learned together! Our first server was created as a place where my kids and I, and a few new friends we've made through Minecraft, could go to have a stable playground to build and grow together as a community.  Several of those friends are still with us today!  I am pleased how the WolfCraft community has grown together since its inception back in March of 2011.  I just hope I can meet your expectations and continue to make this server, and any new ones we may start for the WolfCraft community, a better place to come and enjoy all the Minecraft has to offer!

In my experience this past year of being a server Owner/Administrator, the only bad thing I have found is that I don't get to actually play the game much as I would like.  It seems that most of the time when I am on, I am usually fixing something on the server, updating something, or doing something for someone else.  Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy what I do, and that will not change anytime soon!

With all the upkeep and expenses involved, and the lack of dedicated server Owners/Administrators, servers continue to come and go.  We strive to keep this server alive so that you can all enjoy and benefit from it for a long time to come!  As many of you know, we have been stable, and running 24/7 ever since we started up.  Sure, there has been some downtime, but it has been very limited!  Servers will always require maintenance, and are subject to down time.  But I am sure you would agree that we have proven our dedication to keep our servers online as much as humanly possible!

If you truly enjoy playing on this server, I would ask you to consider helping me out.  Instead of eating out at a fast food place one time this month, or getting a cup of coffee at Starbucks, or giving up going to one movie this month, a simple donation from you, and others like you, can help keep this community going strong for a long time to come. There is no doubt that without donations, this server would not be where it is today. Even using our own hardware, there are still expenses to cover.

Donations are NOT REQUIRED in order for anyone to be a member on the WolfCraft Gaming Network.  Not everyone can afford to pay to play a game! We will never ask you to pay a fee in order to play in our community.  A donation is just that... simply a way for you to give back to the server and to show your appreciation for what we have to offer.

What does my donation pay for?
If you have ever ran your own server before, you know it isn't easy.  And it certainly isn't cheap!  Without issues, it still costs about $150 a month, and sometimes more. Basically, you are helping to me to afford to keep the servers up and thriving.  We will always use your donations for the server, whether its paying for the monthly bandwidth bill, or upgrading some parts to make it run more smooth. And as time goes on, I hope to be able to build bigger and faster servers to make WolfCraft an even better place to be!

What do I get for donating?
Donating doesn't necessarily guarantee you any advantages in the game over other players. I would like to keep things fair to everyone. But there will be some perks offered, as a thank you, to those who do donate.

Benefits for VIP Members
  • A reserved slot on the server, even if its full.
  • Access to special commands that are not available to regular members[/i].
  • Admins/Mods will always try to help VIP's first as a thank you for keeping the server going.
  • We are considering making a special VIP-only world. Dependent upon how much interest there is in something like this.

Some of the commands VIP's will be able to use, include, but may not be limited to:
  • /back
  • /delhome
  • /enderchest
  • /fly
  • /hat
  • /me
  • /nick
  • /top
  • /tpa
  • /tpahere
  • /workbench

Other features availabe to VIP Members, include:
  • - using colors in messages
  • - using colored text on signs
  • - joining server even if its already full
  • - setting multiple homes (currently set at 3)

Some things to keep in mind:  ;)
- I would hope you would consider a donation because you like what we have to offer and you would like give something back to the server. Not just because you get a few extra perks for doing so.
- All benefits are subject to change. As the game, and its plugins,  seems to constantly change, we may be required to take away certain benefits, or make changes to adjust a stated benefit, in order to work with our servers ability.

If you have ever tried to run your own server before, then you know it takes a lot of work and dedication to keep it going.  It is not just a simple plug and play item like you would buy at the store and plug in to your computer at home.

How do I donate?
Donating is easy, and there are a couple ways you can do it.  Just pick the way that is best suited for you and follow the instructions.

1:  Donating using a PayPal account.
Simply look for one of the donation windows, which you can find at the top of this page in the left-hand column, or on the Home page by clicking HERE. Select the amount you would like to donate, then click on the 'Give' button.  One the following page, log in to your PayPal account and complete the process. It's as simple as that!

Or, better yet, you can access Palpal directly while in-game on the Main Server by using the /buy command!  This feature uses the 'Buycraft' plugin, and allows you to select a package and purchase it right from the game.  By doing so, you will get the benefits of the package you purchased within minutes... rather than having to wait for an Admin to log on and rank you up manually, accordingly.

2: Don't have a PayPal account? Still wish to donate by credit card?
As above, simply look for one of the donation windows, which you can find at the top of this page in the left-hand column, or on the Home page by clicking HERE. Select the amount you would like to donate, then click on the 'Give' button.  Instead of logging in with a PayPal account, you can find a link in the lower left hand side of the page, just above the credit card images. Where it says Don't have a PayPal Account?, just below that, you can click 'Continue'. This will take you to a page where you can just put in your credit card information to complete the process.

FAQ.'s

How quickly do I get my VIP benefits?
If you purchase a VIP Package from the in-game option, using the /buy command, you should receive your benefits automatically within minutes.  If you donate through the Forums, you should see the VIP prefix next to your name within about 24 hours from the time your donation is received, indicating that your account has been upgraded appropriately.

How long do I stay VIP?
If you purchase a 1-Month VIP package, it will last for 30 days from the date of purchase. If you purchased an Annual VIP package, it is good for 365 days from the date of purchase.

What happens to my stuff after 1 year passes and I don't donate again?
Your prefix/vault/protection and VIP status will be removed.

If you have any more questions, please ask by replying to this thread!

NOTE:  When you make a donation, that is exactly what it is, a donation.  Don't expect to be treated any differently from those who have not donated.  Donating does not put you above the server rules.  You can and will be banned for breaking the rules just like anyone else.  No refunds will be given in any circumstance.  Also, the server Admins reserve the right modify/take away any and all benefits from anyone, at any time, as we see fit for the benefit of the server and it's longevity.
