News and Updates / Re: Tekkit Server is down!

Tekkit has always given me headaches, I agree with looking into FtB instead, when you have time . . .

I've used those forums for various MMORPG guilds I've been in, very nice, easy to use, lots of features.  There's nothing wrong with these forums, though.

Main Server Discussion / Re: RPG Essentials?
« on: January 16, 2013, 11:56:43 am »
I like it!  Just because its called RPG essentials, its doesnt mean its only for RPers.  There's never been RPing on our server (not that I am against it), but I still think this would add some very nice features, and if it attracts players with different playstyles, that isn't a bad thing at all.

I especially like the 'region' feature and Anvil/Shop feature.   Also, how cool are the coins that mobs will drop when you kill them?

Tekkit Server Discussion / Re: Griefing
« on: December 27, 2012, 02:49:10 pm »
I tried again to get into Tekkit.  It was as laggy as it was when I last tried it.  Its unplayable.

I got into the Wolfcraftgaming Tekkit server and performance was OK for the minute I was in-game, but the complete destruction of the spawn area together with the assault from monsters left me with little to do.

I'm going to keep trying to get into Tekkit but its a pretty large hurdle right now.  Any ideas on how to make my single player server more stable or how to fix our server to make it more accomodating to noobs?

Server Suggestions / Re: HUNGER GAMES - Plugin in Alpha

I agree.  It looks like fun, but its a good idea to wait for a stable build.  Rushing into the alpha will likely cause frustration.  I'll be  keeping  an eye on this, though

My Texture Pack / Re: my texture pack

Looks nice.  I hope it gets updated for 1.3 and for Technic/Tekkit.  Right now Pure DBcraft is the only one I found for that.  LB realism is still the one I use most, but I'm always trying out new ones.  Thanks for posting yours

I will be back in town soon . . . but you can tear down my house whenever you want.   But, you can't take away the blocks . . .  I'll just rebuild it  :)

Main Server Discussion / Re: Should the main server start a new world
« on: August 11, 2012, 01:17:46 pm »
I love both server worlds, I feel like I'm a part of each when I am playing, but I never really get too attached, because I am really a minecraft hermit, always on the move, always looking for that next discovery.  The comforts of home are nice . . . especially if you are a Hobbit, but I am much more akin to Strider and the Rangers (excuse me, The Hobbit is this December so better get used to hearing me "geek out" about it).

So my opinion leans toward a brand new realm of exploration, discovery, and construction.  If possible and if agreed upon, a dangerous realm where whenever you step out of your front door, you are in peril (actually its even better if you're in peril when you're indoors!).  There are a lot of new features, some old that I havent experienced yet in the game, and I would like to try them.  Whether it be in a PvP environment, or in the already established server world, it doesnt really matter as long as the people playing remain united and can cooperate (or make War "nicely" with one another).

To give much better input, I will be trying out some of the new stuff and getting a feel for the game in its various forms.  For me, the raw, Vanilla game is still fun, but I am not against change!  I do enjoy competitive play as well as cooperative play.  I enjoy being a part of this community, although it may not seem so lately since I've been in-active.  So in a while I should be able to post some more specific preferences of mine.  I urge everyone to post their own, and hopefully we can all come to a compromise that will make Wolfcraftgaming an even better place to play Minecraft.

General Discussion / Re: Vacation!
« on: May 28, 2012, 06:52:24 pm »
Just back from my second trip to the mountains, this time I brought both my boys, who really enjoyed hiking and building their own blind out in the forest.  I did get out into the woods some.  I heard lots of Toms gobbling, but they were elusive.

I've had motivational issues lately, with it being warm and the summer season beginning, I am spending a whole lot more time outdoors until it gets dark, and then when I do get a chance to get on the PC, Diablo III has me hooked for about an hour or so.

I haven't forgotten you all, though, and I plan on being back in-game regularly as soon as the busy summer schedule lets up.  See you soon

Server Suggestions / Re: HUNGER GAMES ARENA
« on: May 03, 2012, 05:09:40 pm »
I'm pressed for time right now, I was just checking in after returning home.  I got excited when I read this thread, though, as I am a huge Hunger Games fan and I do enjoy PvP, so naturally this idea is something I would like to see made into reality on our server.

General Discussion / Vacation!
« on: April 29, 2012, 09:15:19 pm »
I've been really busy for the past couple of weeks, between work that needs to be done on (and around) my house, to little league games, birthday parties, communions, swim lessons, and the list goes on.  Well, now its ME time.

I am headed upstate NY tomorrow for the Spring Wild Turkey hunting season opener on May 1.  I will be away for about a week.  Hopefully, when I return, I'll have a bird or two to put in the pot, and lots of time for Minecraft . . .

Sorry I've been unavailable more than usual.  I hope you all have a great week and keep having fun here at Wolfcraft Gaming.  See you soon.

-Phil
